Get Involved

Our alumni play a critical role in supporting B-CU and the students of today and tomorrow. Our hope is that B-CU alumni retain a lifelong commitment to the institution, its mission and values. There are a number of ways to get involved and stay active with B-CU whether it be becoming a class agent for your reunion class or helping to beautify the campus as community service. We are always grateful.

Class Reunions

Reunions are a special time for classmates, friends and family members to reminisce about their college days and share the latest news about their lives. It is also an opportunity to join together in presenting your alma mater with a class gift. Such gifts, when given directly to the University, provide important resources to the University and help to increase alumni giving. These gifts can help to be cultivated by Class Agents.

B-CU Alumni Class Agents are the alumni leaders who help us build these lifelong relationships. They take an active role encouraging alumni giving among their classmates, serve as liaisons between their classmates and the University and spread the word about the Great Bethune-Cookman University.

Student Recruitment

Alumni are one of the university's greatest recruitment resources. Who better to help find future Wildcats and talk to them about B-CU? By volunteering to help the Office of Admission recruit new students, you can make a valuable contribution to the University. Your help is critical, since the Office of Admissions does not have enough recruiters to attend every college fair.

As a volunteer recruiting, alumni can:

  • Represent B-CU at college fairs and other events in your geographic area
  • Host receptions for selected high school senior
  • Make phone calls and/or follow up calls to high school senior
  • Make high school visits

For more information on how to volunteer for student recruitment contact the Office of Admissions or call (800) 448-0228

Pre-Alumni Council

Current students are encouraged to participate in the Pre-Alumni Council, an undergraduate networking unit of the National Alumni Council of the United Negro College Fund. The major purposes of the Pre-Alumni Council are to expose undergraduates to the role alumni play in sustaining the mission of the University, to train students in basic fundraising techniques, and to provide opportunities to experience fundraising activities that support B-CU. Each year, a Miss Pre-Alumni is selected to represent the university at the annual conference of the National Pre-Alumni Council and National Alumni Council of the United Negro College Fund.

The Pre-Alumni Council serves the student body through their four (4) initiatives:

  1. Fundraising
  2. Service
  3. Career Development
  4. University Legacy

Students of the Pre-Alumni Council host a number of activities and events for students and alumni to partake in. Several events included: Miss UNCF Coronation, The All Black Affair and fundraising during Wildcat Friday.
