Student Health Services

Mission

In support of the Student Affairs Division’s mission Student Health Services will promote overall student health through the provision of quality health services and health education to foster a healthy campus community.

General Primary Care

Student Health Services provides preventative health care and routine medical care, such as physical exams, treatment of common problems (colds, gastrointestinal problems, skin irritations due to allergic reactions and infections); accidents, and sports- related injuries such as sprains and fractures and lacerations, as well as chronic illnesses such as asthma or diabetes. Referrals will be made to local community partners for specialty services.


Hours of Operation

Hours of Operation: 8:30-5: 00 P.M. Monday –Friday.

Students are encouraged to schedule appointments for routine preventative health care. Walk-Ins are accepted in cases of emergencies and availability.

Physical Examinations
Physical Examinations are provided as recommended

Nutritional Counseling
Upon request staff available to provide nutritional counseling

HIV Testing
Confidential HIV testing is available at Student Health Services. The CDC recommends yearly HIV testing for everyone regardless of risk.

Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing and treatment
Confidential STI testing and treatment is available at Student Health Services.

Flu Vaccination Clinic (twice yearly)
Reviewing, screening, and updating immunizations are provided.  Students will need to pay for vaccines before receiving them from the provider. Some vaccines are eligible for reimbursement from their health insurance. Students will be notified of scheduled dates and times.

Specialty Referrals
Referrals will be made based on medical need. The provider will be for services which will be the student’s responsibility to cover. The University is not responsible for additional costs incurred by referrals.

Courtesy Shuttles
Shuttle services available to transport students to a medical provider located in Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach and Port Orange.
