Types of Aid

Grants are aid that can be issued to a student by the school itself, private sources, federal and/or state agencies. These funds are to provide assistance for paying costs associated with college. These funds do not need to be paid back by the student. Click here for more information

Types of Grants available through B-CU:

• PELL
• Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG)
• Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG)
• Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
• TEACH Grant

A federal student loan, made through the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program, for which eligible students and parents borrow directly from the U.S. Department of Education at participating schools. Direct Subsidized Loans, Direct Unsubsidized Loans, Direct PLUS Loans and Direct Consolidation Loans are types of Direct Loans. Federal loans are educational aid that must be repaid when a student no longer attends school, enrolls in less than half time, or graduates from school. Click here for more information

A scholarship is an award of financial aid for a student to further their education. Scholarships can be awarded based upon requirements set by the founder or donor of the scholarship. Scholarship money is not required to be paid back by the student. Click here for more information

The Tuition Waiver Program must be approved every semester by the Office of Human Resources Management. Applicants who receive approval will receive a tuition waiver for the cost of tuition only toward the credit hours indicated by the HRM . All fees, fines, and other expenses are the responsibility of the enrolled student. All deadlines and requirements established by other offices such as the Admissions, Financial Aid, Bursar, and Registrar must be met to receive the award. Click here for more information

These Scholarship Awards are awarded annually according to academic standing, enrollment status, financial need, and donor criteria. Nursing Students may be awarded after completing the FAFSA and submitting all required documents as long as funds are available. Click here for more information
