B-CU to Host 39th Annual Spring Concert

ChoirBethune-Cookman University will host its 39th annual Spring Concert on Sunday, April 13 at 4 p.m., at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Spring Concert, which will feature the Concert Chorale and the Symphonic Band, is sponsored by the B-CU Board of Counselors as a thank you to the local community for its ongoing support of the university. The Concert Chorale is the school’s principal vocal performance ensemble, featuring more than 80 student singers, musical accompanists and 10 dancers.  The Symphonic Band is a 50-plus wind ensemble featuring piccolo, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, trumpets, trombones, French horns and tubas.  The students will perform classical as well as traditional music.

“For 110 years, the university has played a vital role in the community. The Board of Counselors, comprised of local business and civic leaders, is dedicated to maintaining this connection,” said B-CU President Dr. Edison O. Jackson. “We are grateful for the community support and want to thank our neighbors by showcasing the talent of our students.”
