Congresswoman Corrine Brown To Visit B-CU On Monday
March 27, 2015 - Daytona Beach, Florida - Bethune-Cookman University
- (B-CU) will welcome Congresswoman Corrine Brown, members of The LINKS, Inc. and 12 young girls today, March 30th. Brown and members of her social organization, The LINKS, Inc (Jacksonville Chapter) are bringing the young ladies to B-CU in an effort to stimulate more interest in higher education and HBCUs. Congresswoman Brown will also meet with B-CU administrators to talk about the state of HBCUs, educational funding and ways that Congress can help. The girls will take a guided tour of the campus and foundation house. They will also have a girl chat luncheon with several of B-CU's female leaders. This event will culminate Women's History Month at B-CU.
Congresswoman Brown and fellow members of The LINKS, Inc. mentor the young ladies in Jacksonville. These young girls are at-risk sixth graders from Butler Middle School. This B-CU tour will be a first-time experience for many of them.
