B-CU Celebrates 110 Years on Founder's Day

B-CU is pleased to announce the Founder’s Day program celebrating academic excellence under the theme, “110 years of Wildcat Fever: Do You See What I See?” This event will take place at 10:10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 3 in the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center located at the corner of International Speedway Blvd. and Lincoln Street.

The 2014 Founder’s Day program will be used to share with students, faculty, staff and the community an exciting variety of innovative initiatives and programs that are a part of what it means to be members of the Bethune-Cookman University family.

Other activities include a Wreath Laying Ceremony at noon at the founder’s grave. Afterward, everyone is welcomed to come and learn more about Mary McLeod Bethune during a special presentation on the front porch of the Mary McLeod Bethune Foundation National Historic Landmark.

Dr. Damon Dandridge, Concert Choral Director, will lead the College Shibboleth and Alma Mater at the Founder’s Day Celebration along with special presentations and Mary’s legacy video.

On Saturday, the Wildcat football team plays Delaware State at the Municipal Stadium.  And Sunday, a university-sponsored Community Meeting will be held at 4 p.m. The celebration will climax with a gospel play entitled, “She Wont Tell,” at the Performing Arts Center.
